In my own drawings and paintings, motifs that resemble wire or tree branches are not uncommon. All of this has fascinated me from childhood onward. The Examplums series started relating to works that provided the best of all possibilities with ideal balance between a calligraphic line and realist precision. I choose images of icons that are substantial in my opinion and I turn the image of the icon to a three-dimensional work. Metal wires can gain the effect of weightlessness if it is welded according to the same logic by which a pen moves in making a drawing. The Icons suggest an idealistic refinement with a dynamic aspect.
